Helping The Earth!

This week we helped our Earth by picking up trash all around the area surrounding Service Stars. It was such a windy day on Wednesday and we are so glad to do our part to keep trash from getting blown into sewers and then into rivers and ocean.

The Red Stars ventured up to the area around Bigelow Middle School and Andy dubbed our Red Stars the "Trash Warriors" because they worked so hard and filled multiple bags with trash!

We learned all about marine debris and the annual CoastSweep cleanup that is going on in Massachusetts right now. Click here to find a map of clean-ups going on now through November to help keep Massachusetts' waterways clean!

Questions to ask your students:

1) What was the most common trash item found during the 2025 CoastSweep cleanups in Massachusetts?

2) What was some of the most common trash you found during our trash pick up near Bigelow Middle School?
